Ananya Kumar-Banerjee is a New Yorker of South Asian Origin who currently lives in New Haven, CT. She is a sophomore undergraduate at Yale, where she is an Ethnicity, Race & Migration major and Human Rights Scholar. Ananya has been published in Paper Darts, Teen Vogue, 295, Crab Fat Lit Mag, Venus Magazine, the New Journal, Bone Bouquet, Textploit, and the Yale Herald, among others. Ananya writes inter-genre and experimental work, her primary belief being that typical literary classifications can strangulate complex thought. She hopes one day to visit the village of Saint-Paul de Vence so she can visit the home of the late James Baldwin. Baldwin reminds Ananya that writing can have political purpose, so perhaps she can too.
